DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE
NO. 456/MPP/Kep/7/2004 dated July 27, 2004

CONCERNING
THE APPOINTMENT OF SURVEYORS AS EXECUTORS OF VERIFICATION AND TECHNICAL SURVEILLANCE OF THE IMPORT OF SALT

THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE,

Considering :

That in the framework of implementing Article 11 of Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 360/MPP/Kep/S/2004 dated May 31, 2004 on the provisions on the import of salt, it is deemed necessary to stipulate a decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade on the appointment of surveyors as executors of verifications and technical surveillance of the import of salt;

In view of :

Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 360/MPP/Kep/5/2004 on the provisions on the import of salt;

DECIDES:

To stipulate :

FIRST:

To appoint surveyors as executors of verification and technical surveillance of the import of salt, namely:

• 1. PT Surveyor Indonesia;
• 2. PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (PT Persero SUCOFINDO).

SECOND:

The two surveyors as meant in Dictum FIRST have the tasks of:

• 1. verifying or undertaking technical surveillance, including data or information on:
• a. country of origin of goods;
• b. specification of goods, covering HS Number and description of goods;
• c. quantity and kind of goods; and
• d. date of shipment.
• 2. containing results of the verification or technical surveillance as meant in point 1 into a survey report used as import document;
• 3. conveying written report on activities of verification or technical surveillance of the import of salt periodically once per month in the first week of the ensuing month to the Director General of Foreign Trade in this case the Director of Import, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

THIRD:

Lateness or other mistakes in the issuance of LS arising from negligence of surveyors, intentionally or not, becomes responsibility of surveyors in accordance with the provisions in force in the International Federation of Inspection Agency (IFIA).

FOURTH:

In executing the verification or technical surveillance of the import of salt, the surveyors can collect compensation for their service from salt importers with the amount adjusted to the principle of benefit.

FIFTH:

All costs related to the implementation of this decree are responsibility of the surveyors.

SIXTH:

The appointment of the surveyors as meant in Dictum FIRST does not abolish the authority of the Minister of Industry and Trade to revoke, replace and supplement the appointment of surveyors as executors of verification or technical surveillance of the import of salt.

SEVENTH:

Technical matters related to the implementation of this decree are stipulated by the Director General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

EIGHTH:

The decree comes into force as from the date of issuance.
